Local Pumpkin Patches and Festivals

Pa's Pumpkin Patch opens TODAY, which means fall is officially upon us. Yeah, yeah, I know fall started last week, but it's really not official without pumpkins, right? Here are a few of our favorite patches to help you find your perfect little gourd. 


We will be adding more fall events as details are released. To find them all:

Sells a variety of pumpkins, haystacks, corn stalks and gourds. Offers a snack bar, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a variety of games and rides. 

Discount wrist bands for rides can be found on Groupon. Another way to save money is to wait until Halloween day, and check to see if they have discounted their pumpkins, as they often do. 


El Dorado Frontier Pumpkin Patch

Open Saturday and Sundays, 11am-5pm

Music, crafts, and train rides through El Dorado Park.


The Pumpkin Factory

Operates 4 locations, including one at the Westminster Mall

Opens in October

Snack Bar, Petting Zoo, Pumpkins, Field Trips, Inflatable Rides & Slides, Mechanical Kiddie Rides, Games, Bungee Jump, Bobbles, Pony Rides, Face Painting, And MORE! The location at Live Oak Ranch has a u-pick area, sunflower fields, and farm animals in a petting zoo. (Live Oak Canyon Rd. at the 10 Freeway, Yucaipa CA). 


Whittier Pumpkin Patch

11760 Whittier Blvd, Whittier CA, 90601

Opens October 1st, 9am

Jumping zone, tractor town, pony rides, and a petting zoo. This patch also offers full day activity tickets, which could save money for those busy jumpers. 


The Big Guys

Tanaka Farms

5380 3/4 University Dr., Irvine, CA

Patch is open daily from 9am-6pm

This working farm grows a variety of fruits and vegetables. Each fall, visitors are welcomed to pick pumpkins from the vine, go on tractor rides, and much more.

NOTE: Parking is extremely limited on the weekends, so be sure to click above and purchase a parking pass before you visit. 


Irvine Park Railroad

1 Irvine Park Road, Orange, CA 92869

Patch open daily from September 14th-October 31st

Train rides, bounce house, tractor races, panning for gold, ring tosses and more. Attend on September 22nd for the Great Pumpkin Weigh off. Arrive early to avoid traffic going into the regional park.


Pomona Pumpkin Patch

4102 S University Drive, Pomona CA

California’s largest pumpkin patch opens on October 5th, with a pumpkin festival weekend. After the festival, the patch is open daily (except Mondays), with all the usual pumpkin patch offerings and activities.


Underwood Family Farms Patch

3370 Sunset Valley Road, Moorpark, CA 93021

This very popular pumpkin patch operates from September 28th - October 31st. Most weekends, the farm will also host various festivals, including Friends of the Farm Weekend, Farm Country Weekend, and Antique Tractor Weekend.


Zoomars Pumpkin Patch and Petting Zoo

31791 Los Rios St, San Juan Capistrano, CA 92675

Opens on October 1st. 

The oldest occupied town in California has a very popular petting zoo, open year round. During the month of October, the zoo turns into a pumpkin patch as well.


Forneris Farms 

15200 Rinaldi Street, Mission Hills, CA 91345

Forneris Farms operates a pumpkin patch daily in October. Each weekend, the patch turns into a festival, with live music, a petting zoo, corn maze, tractor rides, refreshments, and more. 


Gilchrist Farms Patch

30116 Bouquet Canyon Road, Saugus, CA 91390

Opens September 28th, 9am

During the week, kids can enjoy pony rides, wagon rides, straw bale maze, straw slide & petting zoo. On weekends, this patch hosts a festival, featuring Mule Drawn Wagon Rides, Pony Rides, Face Painting, Pumpkin Decorating, Fall Farm Crafts, Live Entertainment, Fundraiser Bake Sale (every weekend), Caramel Apples, Roasted Corn on the Cob, Food Trucks, Petting Zoo, Straw Slide, Pig Races, Chicken Splat Bingo, Pig Races, and FREE Goat Milking Demonstrations each Saturday and Sunday at 9AM.

Mr. Bones Pumpkin Patch

Opens October 5th, 9am

A wide variety of pumpkin related activities. This patch is famous for it’s many kid friendly offerings, and the occasional celebrity sightings. 


Pumpkin City

24203 Avenida de la Carlota Laguna Hills, CA 92653 and Anaheim

Opens October 1st

Operates 3 locations. The main location, at Laguna Hills Mall, hosts the Rocky Mountain Mining Co., and Lucky Luke's Gem Stones. Kids can crack open geodes and more. They also offer a petting zoo, pony rides, and show by the Puppets and Players Little Theater. 


Shawn’s Pumpkin Patch

Two locations in Los Angeles

Opens October 5th

Bounce houses, ponies, petting zoo, a ball house, train rides, obstacle courses, a straw maze, giant slides, kiddie rides, and face painting. This patch will also host birthday parties for your fall babies. 


Frosty’s Forest and Pumpkin Patch

17145 Bastanchury Rd, Yorba Linda, CA

Opens October 4th, 3pm

Aside from pumpkins families can enjoy a petting zoo, gold mining, rat race obstacle course, slides and bounce houses, an arcade and much more!


Amy’s Farm and Pumpkin Patch

7698 Eucalyptus Avenue, Ontario, CA 91762

Open in October. Closed Sundays

Come visit Amy's Farm for an array of pumpkins for sale.  Take a walking tour of the farm and visit our animals (call to make a reservation first).  Shop for fresh, organic fruits and veggies in our Produce Stand.  Enjoy the fall season at Amy's Farm!  No need for reservations to drop in and shop, or visit the pumpkin patch.
